About GRMS

GRMS – the customised standard for the red meat industry.
The Global Red Meat Standard, GRMS, is a scheme specifically developed for the meat industry. Its cornerstone is product safety, focusing on critical areas affecting the maintenance of high meat safety requirements.
GRMS version 4.2 is ISO/IEC 17065 accredited and independently audited.

GRMS version 5.0 will soon be ready for accredited ISO/IEC 17021 certification.

The Standard has been revised with advice and input from relevant stakeholders, ensuring that it continues to meet the requirements of manufacturers and retailers, and we are now proud to present the fifth edition, version 5.0.
Transition guideline from V4.2 to V5.0
GRMS version 5.0 is a system standard and the audit protocol follows the requirements of ISO/IEC 17021:2015.
Production sites already certified against version 4.2 can follow this guide line for the transition from version 4.2 to version 5.0.
The fact that GRMS has been specifically developed for the meat industry provides its customers with an invaluable tool for measuring a supplier’s performance.
